Facts:

     Mercury's "woody" station wagon with a 116" wheelbase in 1941.  Designated as Model 79.  These cars weighed 3468lbs., listed for $1141 in 1941, and was Mercury's most expensive model.  The wood was birch panels surrounded by maple frames.  In 1942, power increased to 100hp.  By 1948, list price was $2207.  In 1949, horsepower reached 110.  In 1941, the wheelbase increased to 118".  In 1949, the wheelbase changed to 114".
